Pie Bird Pies and Des Moines Mercantile are teaming up for the coziest of a cozy fall evening with candle making and sweet + savory pie. This event will be held Wednesday, October 15 + 22 from 6-8pm.
Sip on hot spiced cider and enjoy a savory apple & cheddar hand pie or sweet pumpkin & cream cheese hand pie while making your very own candle (you get both hand pies!). We will lead you through the candle making process as you pick and mix your seasonal-inspired scents—pie-inspired if you want!
Your time includes: a sweet + a savory hand pie and cider from Pie Bird Pies, a candle vessel made by local pottery collective, Kunzler Studios (refillable at DSM Mercantile once empty), a candle made by yourself to bring home, and time for private shopping.
